Walgreens in Newark, NJ is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to learn and support the pharmacist and pharmacy team while ensuring patient safety and compliance with regulations. You will help process prescriptions using pharmacy systems and contribute to delivering a distinctive customer experience.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will assist with patient counseling, medication management, and inventory support; participate in training to stay current on healthcare developments and Walgreens policies;

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

Responsabilités

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Under pharmacist supervision, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Reviews and complies with Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Performs duties as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist in accordance with Walgreens SOPs for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
• Assists pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns including patient counseling and other health services.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy policies, reports prescription errors, and supports inventory management and overall department upkeep.
• Complete required training and ongoing learning to stay current on healthcare developments.
