Job summary

Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah is seeking a first-year college of pharmacy student for a paid internship. The intern will work 5-hour shifts one day per week and one weekend per month, covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays under pharmacist supervision.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy or completing internship hours required by a Board of Pharmacy.
• Current pharmacy intern license applicable to state of practice (by the first day of work- applicants may be hired before licensure is completed)

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to support patients, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals in areas of responsibility.
• Communicates effectively with all caregivers and stakeholders regarding responsibilities and identified concerns.
• Supervising pharmacist provides ongoing supervision and accuracy checks.
• Provides patient education/counseling under supervision.
• Delivers medications and information in a timely, professional manner.
• Maintains compliance with state and federal laws and Intermountain policies.
• Supports department and Intermountain Health goals and projects.
• Acts as a mentor for technicians to enhance competency and experience.
