Job summary

Walgreens in Minnesota is seeking a Pharmacist to provide pharmacy consulting, medication management and preventive healthcare services including immunizations. You will ensure proper dispensing, review and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines and company policies.

You will support workflow optimization, inventory management and customer experience, including patient consultations, and participate in store operations such as opening/closing duties and KPI reviews

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, and allergies; refers to provider as needed to ensure correct use and satisfaction.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management; dispenses medications as workload allows.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations and company policies; assists in establishing efficient workflow and shift duties.
• Maintains pharmacy systems knowledge and support (Intercom Plus, registers, automation, StoreNET); proposes enhancements to productivity.
• Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims and follows up with insurers and providers.
• Performs immunizations, flu shots, diabetes awareness and other preventive healthcare services.
• Assists with analyzing performance data and inventory management; tracks KPI's with management.
• Develops relationships with local medical community and participates in outreach to promote pharmacy services.
