Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacist to provide medicine counseling, immunizations, and clinical services while ensuring accurate dispensing and regulatory compliance. You will contribute to patient safety, optimize workflow, and uphold Walgreens standards in a fast-paced community pharmacy.

The role involves collaboration with pharmacy leadership, performing medication management, and engaging with local healthcare providers to promote preventive care and wellness services.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree prior to the start date.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the state boards within 90 days of hire.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to become one within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage, side effects, interactions, and privacy; refers to medical provider as needed.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations and company policies; assists in establishing efficient workflows and shift duties.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy tech systems (Intercom Plus, StoreNET) and proposes enhancements to productivity.
• Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims and follows up with insurers and providers to prevent rejections.
• Provides immunizations, clinical and wellness services as applicable.
• Supports management in analyzing performance data and inventory management; reviews KPI with managers.
• Develops relationships with local medical community and participates in community outreach.
• Partners with Central Pharmacy Operations for patient registration and third-party reviews.
