Job summary

Meijer in Plainfield, Indiana is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support customer service, prescription processing, and inventory management under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will engage with patients in person and by telephone, assist with product selection, and help obtain medication prices as needed.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited pharmacy program and a state intern license.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school.
• Pharmacy Intern License (state-specific).
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Neat and legible penmanship; organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service.
• Communicate with patients in person and by phone; assist with product selection; obtain medication prices.
• Process and fill prescriptions.
• Use pharmacy computer system for prescription data entry and third-party adjudication; count and label prescriptions; handle Will Call prescriptions.
• Perform third-party functions and inventory management; update balance on hand and place orders; manage vendor charges and transfers.
• Provide clinical services where appropriate; may perform other duties as assigned.
