Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmacy services, including medication counseling, immunizations, and clinical reviews. You will ensure accurate dispensing, maintain regulatory compliance, and support operational efficiency within the pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage, side effects, interactions, and generics.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures operations comply with regulations, company policies and standards; assists manager with procedures and shift duties.
• Upholds Good Faith Dispensing policy and state/federal laws when filling prescriptions.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy IT systems and proposes enhancements to promote productivity.
• Processes insurance claims and follows up with insurers and providers to prevent denials.
• Provides immunizations and preventive health services as part of patient care.
• Analyzes performance data with managers and supports inventory management and asset protection.
• Builds relationships with local healthcare providers and participates in community outreach.
