Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a pharmacist to provide comprehensive medication care, patient education and immunizations in a customer-focused setting. You will counsel on drug usage, interactions and side effects while performing compounding, reviews and verification to ensure safe dispensation.

You will help optimize workflow, manage inventory, and support the pharmacy team with IT systems knowledge and insurer communications to resolve issues and improve patient experience.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, contraindications and pregnancies; assists in ensuring correct dispensation.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification and medication management.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations and policies; supports efficient workflow and inventory management.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy IT systems and proposes enhancements to promote productivity.
• Follows up on insurance claims and coordinates with providers to resolve issues.
