Job summary

Elevance Health's CarelonRx division is looking for a Pharmacy Intern to join our team. You will interpret and enter data for moderately complex prescriptions, and assist with prior authorization processing and issue resolution.

The internship is hybrid with virtual work and requires in-person training sessions; ideal candidates reside within commuting distance of PulsePoint locations and are enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program with an active intern license.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy program at an accredited college or university.
• Active, unrestricted Pharmacist Intern license in applicable state(s) required.
• Ability to work 20 hours per week during the internship.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and data entry of moderately complex prescriptions.
• Assist in prior authorization processing and troubleshooting adjudication issues.
• Develop and configure prior authorization decision trees in the workflow tool.
• Participate in quality assurance feedback from pharmacists.
• Educate providers on pharmacy rules and resources.
• Inform relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.
