Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the Pharmacist with prepackaging, stocking, inventory maintenance, and distributing medications to hospital locations. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; licensure as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.

The role may be full-time or part-time and includes potential call-backs and overtime as needed. Responsibilities include filling carts and floor stock, calculating dosages, auditing medication

Qualifications

• Must have been accepted to an accredited Pharmacy program.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacist with filling medication carts and replenishment of drug supplies.
• Deliver medication carts, fluids and pharmacy supplies to hospital areas; investigate discrepancies.
• Interpret physician orders, calculate doses and determine quantities for coverage.
• Operate unit dose packaging machines to prepack tablets, capsules, liquids.
• Perform basic computer tasks for charging/crediting medications and printing labels.
