Job summary

Walgreens in the United States is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to assist the pharmacist and team, learn patient experience, and apply state and federal regulations while processing prescriptions and using pharmacy systems.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will help with patient counseling, inventory, and health services such as blood pressure monitoring, while maintaining Good Faith Dispensing and quality standards; evening and weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Models and shares customer service best practices to deliver a delightful experience.
• Develops strong relationships with customers.
• Learn from store and pharmacy team members, field leadership, customers.
• Assist in the practice of pharmacy under pharmacist supervision, and comply with policy.
• Perform duties per SOPs for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
• Assist with patient care and services within the state scope of practice, including counseling.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to policies.
• Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Register related sales on cash register and assist customers to locate products.
• Assist with inventory management and handling of pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and orderly Pharmacy Department.
• Comply with company policies; complete special assignments.
