Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to assist with medication selection, preparation, distribution, and record-keeping for inpatient medications.

Under supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will gain hands-on experience in clinical consultations, medication histories, and hospital protocols. The role includes counseling on anticoagulation and methotrexate, IV-to-PO conversions, and dosing adjustments for renal or hepatic impairment.

Qualifications

• Registered intern with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
• Enrollment in ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy or graduate awaiting licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with selection, preparation, and distribution of all medications dispensed to inpatients.
• Complete medication histories and clinical consultations per hospital protocols.
• Counsel on anticoagulation and methotrexate therapy.
• Convert medications from IV to PO and adjust doses for renal/hepatic function.
• Follow ICARE and AIDET principles in patient encounters.
