Job summary

1810 Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Intern Year 1 to support the Pharmacy department. You will help ensure the right patient receives the right medication safely and promptly under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.

The role involves learning drug distribution, compounding, order entry, and dispensing processes, as well as using related computer software and disseminating drug information as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Pharmacy intern experience 0–1 year preferred.
• State Pharmacy Intern license recommended; HR only required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with the treatment team.
• Counsel patients on prescription and OTC medications and devices.
• Monitor therapies by reviewing profiles and lab values per guidelines.
• Assist Pharmacist with information for nurses, doctors, and patients.
• Fill and deliver medications for nursing units and Pyxis as needed.
