Job summary

Winona Health seeks a Pharmacy Intern to support the pharmacy team in processing, preparing, and dispensing medications across inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings. Under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will apply clinical knowledge to assist with professional activities and ensure safe, compliant care.

Responsibilities include completing orientation, maintaining competency, and assisting with high-cost medications while prioritizing patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Actively enrolled and in good standing at an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy, or a graduate working toward licensure.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Intern and in good standing with the state of Minnesota.
• Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Cerner and PioneerRx.

Responsibilities

• Completes Winona Health orientation and educational requirements.
• Assists pharmacists in providing safe, effective and efficient pharmaceutical care.
• Prepares and dispenses medications for inpatient and outpatient orders, including high-cost items.
• Performs accurate medication preparation and distribution to patient care areas.
• Handles inpatient and outpatient pharmacy technician duties under supervision.
• Uses Cerner and PioneerRx for charging/crediting medications.
• Follows all controlled substance protocols and policies.
