Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to learn the patient experience by assisting the pharmacist and team in processing prescriptions and using pharmacy systems.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will perform duties for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions, while delivering patient care services such as blood pressure checks and medication management where allowed by state scope.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with products and services to deliver a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices and demonstrate Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with customers.
• Learn from store/pharmacy team members and leadership.
• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision and follow Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Help with entering, processing third party claims, filling and dispensing prescriptions.
• Assist with patient care services (BP checks, MTM) as allowed by state scope.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty per policy.
• Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Register sales at the register and assist customers to OTC aisles as needed.
• Answer calls that do not require pharmacist attention.
• Assist with inventory management, receiving, unpacking and storing pharmaceutical supplies.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and orderly Pharmacy Department areas.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as directed.
