Mercy Health in Boardman, Ohio, is seeking a Pharmacy Intern at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.

This entry-level position provides hands-on pharmacy experience under a clinical pharmacist supervision, including patient care rounds, medication history, and education for patients and staff. You will participate in interdisciplinary rounds, assist in dosing, drug distribution, and precept student pharmacists while developing both clinical and operational pharmacy skills in a faith-based health

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Currently enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy with an active board of pharmacy intern licensure (required).
• Pharmacy Intern Licensure – State Board of Pharmacy (required).

Responsibilities

• Perform medication history interviews, first dose teaching, discharge counseling, and adherence assessment.
• Counsel patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications and devices.
• Monitor medication therapies via profile reviews, lab value interpretation, and ensuring regimens follow guidelines.
• Develop and recommend therapeutic plans, identify and resolve drug-related problems, and document in the electronic record.
• Retrieve, evaluate, and provide drug information to health care providers; answer questions.
• Other duties as assigned.
