Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Pharmacy Intern currently enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program to support medication preparation, dispensing, and patient education under supervision. This role emphasizes accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and collaborative care within the Pharmacy Department.
Requirements include a high school diploma, enrollment in a pharmacy program, eligibility to register as an intern or technician in CT or RI, and good math and computer skills.

Pharmacy interns are enrolled in a pharmacy degree program at an accredited school of pharmacy and participate in the delivery of pharmacy services under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The pharmacy intern position will prepare individuals for their role as a future pharmacist. Interns are invited and encouraged to participate in educational activities within the Pharmacy Department including those associated with the pharmacy residency program. The intern may complete additional pharmacy projects in collaboration with pharmacy leadership and/or pharmacy residents.

High school diploma required and must be currently enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited College of Pharmacy program or pre-pharmacy program.
Pharmacy or healthcare-related experience preferred but not required.
Must be eligible to register as a Pharmacy Intern or pharmacy technician in the state of employment as outlined by the Dept. of Consumer Protection (CT) or Dept. of Health (RI).
Proficiency in mathematical calculations; accuracy; problem solving; attention to detail; knowledge of computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets; ability to learn quickly in a fast‑paced environment; ability to learn or perform pharmaceutical compounding, repackaging and labeling including manipulation of raw drug products using appropriate technique: ability to work with computer and technology equipment including the ability to perform basic troubleshooting functions. Must be able to prioritize competing demands, work independently, and show flexibility and teamwork. Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
Must be available to work rotating shifts and weekends. Must be flexible with scheduling, working evening, holiday, and weekend shifts as needs demand. Employee is considered essential personnel and is expected to work during inclement weather (e.g. blizzards, hurricanes). During the course of daily tasks, the employee is required to walk, sit, stand and crouch. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The work environment noise level is moderate.
