Job summary

Methodist Health System is seeking an experienced Pharmacist informatics professional to develop and maintain pharmacy information systems, including Epic, and lead system validation efforts. The role requires hospital pharmacy workflow expertise and governance experience.

You will collaborate with clinical and informatics teams, oversee change control, and provide staff education while ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Licensed as a registered pharmacist by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Willow Certified.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to prioritize multiple job tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrable use of spreadsheet, database, and data query software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Has experience managing employees and leading clinical informatics projects.
• Has experience with governance, change control management.
• Has practiced as a clinical pharmacist in the hospital environment allowing for full understanding of inpatient pharmacy workflow.
• 5 years of experience with Pharmacy Information Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, grow, maintain, and monitor pharmacy information systems (e.g. Epic) to optimize workflows, enhance physician/pharmacist/patient experience, and improve patient outcomes and financial results.
• Work independently as System Administrator/Project Manager to validate changes to pharmacy modules, including testing, training, auditing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with physician, pharmacy, nurse leadership and health informatics teams.
• Monitor billing accuracy, compliance, and data integrity; coordinate CDM maintenance with Finance and Pharmacy Billing Technician.
• Document activities and tickets in Ivanti, Sherlock, Data Courier, SharePoint, etc., for continual review.
• Build and maintain order sets and drug/mixture builds per guidelines.
• Provide education to pharmacy staff on new workflows and training materials.
• Adhere to Health Informatics policies and professional conduct.
• Provide on-call support for multiple facilities during non-business hours.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
