Job summary

Walgreens Boots Alliance is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to engage in post-graduate activities under direct supervision to fulfill state Board of Pharmacy requirements and support patient care.

The role includes counseling on medication usage and drug interactions, immunizations, and preventive health services, while assisting with compounding, dispensing and regulatory compliance to enhance customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from accredited University outside the United States.
• Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC).
• Intern permit/certificate issued by the respective Board of Pharmacy, if required.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 45 days of intern hours completion.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients under supervision on medication usage, side effects and interactions.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification.
• Reviews, interprets and dispenses prescribed medications as workload requires.
• Supports pharmacy manager with workflow, policies and inventory management.
• Performs immunizations and preventive health services where applicable.
