Job summary

Renown Health in Reno, NV is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to coordinate formulary-related tasks within the insurance plan, including prescription rider setups, prior authorizations, and communications with members and providers.

This role supports patient-facing workflows in outpatient pharmacy, liaising with providers, patients, office staff and pharmacy staff to streamline approvals, financial assistance, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a managed care organization or equivalent with pharmacy/managed care background.
• Current and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Nevada strongly preferred.
• Must have working-level knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Computer/timing skills to complete online learning and use MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal activities on Rx changes, including prior authorizations and letters to members and providers.
• Serve as liaison with leadership on formulary issues and clerical management.
• Coordinate patient-facing and internal pharmacy workflows to facilitate prior authorizations and financial assistance.
• Communicate with members, providers, office staff, and pharmacy staff to improve patient experience around medications.
• Provide excellent customer service via inbound calls from members and physicians.
