Job summary

CompleteRx, in partnership with South Shore Hospital in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Director of Pharmacy to provide strategic leadership for the hospital’s pharmacy department. The role ensures safe, cost-effective medication use and high-quality patient care while collaborating with clinicians and the CompleteRx operations team.

You will oversee budgeting, purchasing, staffing, policy development, and regulatory compliance, and mentor pharmacy staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree required.
• Current Illinois license to practice pharmacy.
• Minimum 3 years of management experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates operations to ensure safe, cost-effective care.
• Develops, enforces, and maintains policies and procedures for safe drug use.
• Implements continuous process improvement and action plans to address variances.
• Supervises drug storage and preparation areas across the hospital.
• Maintains adequate drug supply and procurement specifications.
• Ensures compliant documentation and control of controlled substances.
• Supervises, trains, mentors, and evaluates staff.
• Prepares annual budget and manages expenditures within limits.
• Establishes the scope of services and annual implementation plans.
