Actalent in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Pharmacy Data Technician to accurately enter prescriptions, triage fax orders, and ensure proper documentation in our pharmacy system. The role involves dosage calculation, communication with doctors’ offices for refills, and gaining proficiency in legacy systems in a long-term care environment.

This fully onsite contract position offers a rotating 7am–7pm schedule with weekend rotation, and a hybrid option may be available after proving capability.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician certification is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Pharmacy Data Technician

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Data Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately entering new and refill prescriptions into our operating system, ensuring timely and error-free dispensing. You will triage incoming fax prescriptions and ensure proper documentation in our computer system. Additionally, you will calculate and verify correct dosages, and handle communications with doctors' offices for prescription refills.

Responsibilities

Work Environment

This position offers a rotating shift from Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm, with a weekend rotation every fourth weekend. There is potential for a hybrid work environment upon proving capability. The work environment is casual, allowing jeans and t-shirts, but closed-toe shoes are required. The pharmacy recently moved to a new, appealing location. This role is within a long-term care pharmacy, serving nursing homes, assisted living, and group homes, rather than a retail pharmacy.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
