Job summary

Akina Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Data Entry to support order processing and data integrity in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. This role requires accurate data entry, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with pharmacists and providers.

Qualifications

• Active pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) and Virginia Board licensure; ongoing CE.
• 1–2 years of data-entry experience in pharmacy/healthcare; accuracy emphasized.
• HIPAA compliance and handling patient information responsibly.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with pharmacists, providers, patients and team.
• Familiarity with compounding workflows or specialty pharmacy data entry (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead order processing by directing data-entry workflow and meeting turnaround times.
• Resolve escalated processing issues via root-cause analysis and cross-functional coordination.
• Ensure data integrity and patient/provider record accuracy through audits and documentation standards.
• Reconcile orders and statuses by verifying patient/prescription details and closing will-call discrepancies.
• Train team on effective processes and communications to keep orders moving.
