Job summary

Guardian Pharmacy in Ankeny, IA is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support prescription processing and customer interactions. You will enter prescriptions, triage faxes, and ensure accurate dosage and notes within our pharmacy systems.

The role requires a state-appropriate high school diploma or GED, a Pharmacy Technician license, and 2+ years of related experience. Hybrid work from home is available after training, with shifts primarily 7A–7P on weekdays and every third weekend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required per state.
• Pharmacy technician license/certification/registration required; national certification preferred (PTCB).
• 2+ years related experience; advanced computer skills and pharmacy operations system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter new and refill prescriptions into the operating system accurately and timely.
• Triage incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing.
• Maintain proper notes in computer and cycle fill coding; verify correct dosage.
• Communicate with customers by phone, providing courteous service.
• Ensure all prescriptions assigned for processing are completed each shift.
• Collaborate with doctors’ offices on refills and follow-ups as needed.
• Develop proficiency in all pharmacy systems (document imaging, legacy systems).
• Assist with filing, packaging, inventory, and order profiling as needed.
• Meet delivery deadlines and maintain data entry records for cycle medications.
