Job description

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register, provides courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist, under supervision, in pharmacy practice in accordance with regulations. Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Customer Experience
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolves issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Shares customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., proactive help, needs identification, service until satisfaction).
Operations
  • Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
  • Recommends products and trade-up or companion items.
  • Handles transactions, including voids, returns, refunds, and exchanges; assists customers in locating products.
  • Maintains cleanliness and merchandising of counters and shelves, takes inventory, and records data.
  • Supports pharmacy activities: entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and assisting in workflow management.
  • Reports prescription errors immediately and complies with pharmacy policies and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Adheres to Good Faith Dispensing policies during prescription activities.
  • Handles non-urgent phone calls, including communication with physicians.
  • Processes third-party claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
  • Supports inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking shipments, and filing claims for discrepancies.
  • Ensures compliance with laws on regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
  • Constructs and maintains displays, completes resets and revisions.
  • Assists with product placement, stock rotation, and store cleanliness.
  • Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
  • Provides photo services, including passport photos, poster prints, and promotional products.
  • Manages web order pickups and delivers orders to customers.
  • Supports store maintenance and upholds company policies and respectful relationships.
  • Completes assigned tasks and special projects.
Training & Personal Development
  • Maintains PTCB certification and/or state registration.
  • Attends training, completes continuing education, and stays updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
  • Must be fluent in English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
