Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and trade-up or related products to customers.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including cash collection, giving change, voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products, such as guiding them to OTC aisles.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, takes inventory, and maintains records. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed by store management.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and checking for drug interactions. Assists pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and follows company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs. Complies with the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
- Handles non-urgent telephone inquiries, including calls to physicians.
- Processes third-party prescription claims accurately and timely, and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for overages, shortages, or damages involving pharmaceuticals.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains store displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and completes resets as directed.
- Assists with food and product placement, stock rotation, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Possesses working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster prints, and promotional products.
- Performs web order pickup duties, including monitoring, filling, and delivering orders.
- Supports store cleanliness and maintenance to ensure a neat and safe environment.
- Follows all company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Completes assigned tasks and special projects as required.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and/or state certification/registration through the designated training programs.
- Participates in training, completes required continuing education, and stays updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements include fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
