Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
- Recommends items for sale to customers and suggests trade-up and/or companion items.
- Registers customer purchases on assigned cash register, collects cash, and distributes change as requested; processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Assists customers in locating products in the OTC aisle when possible.
- Keeps counters and shelves clean and well-merchandised, takes inventory, and maintains records. Checks in and prices merchandise as required or as directed by the store manager or shift leader.
- Performs duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring accuracy, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Assists pharmacists in scheduling and workflow management.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Complies with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Strictly follows the company's policy on Good Faith Dispensing during all prescription activities.
- Handles non-urgent telephone calls, including those to physicians.
- Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services promptly and performs other clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports pharmacy inventory activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for overages, shortages, errors, or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
- Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal items, and completes resets as directed.
- Assists with product placement and stock rotation, following policies like FIFO.
- Has working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster prints, and promotional products.
- Handles web order pick-up responsibilities, including monitoring, filling, and delivering orders.
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance.
- Follows all company policies, maintains respectful coworker relationships, and completes assigned tasks.
Training & Personal Development
- Earns and maintains PTCB certification and/or state certification/registration.
- Attends training, completes PPLs, and acquires continuing education credits, staying updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
