This role provides a base pay range of $16.00/hr - $18.00/hr. Salary will be determined based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Register sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.

Operations

• Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
• Recommend items for sale, including trade‑ups and companion items.
• Register purchases, collect cash, handle voids, returns, refunds, and exchanges, and assist customers to the OTC aisle when possible.
• Maintain clean and well‑merchandised counters and shelves, take inventory, and keep records.
• Perform pharmacy system duties: enter patient and drug information, fill prescriptions, verify medication accuracy, check for interactions, and assist with scheduling and workflow.
• Report prescription errors promptly and adhere to company policies, including the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention and process manual claims for third‑party prescription services.
• Assist with pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, checking, storing, and filing claims for overages or shortages.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Construct and maintain promotional, seasonal, and sale displays.
• Assist with product placement and stock rotation for consumable items.
• Maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment.
• Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo and print services.
• Assume web‑pick‑up responsibilities, monitoring orders and delivering items to customers when they arrive.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly store appearance.
• Comply with all company policies, maintain respectful relationships with coworkers, and complete special assignments.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification.
• Attend training, complete PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits to maintain knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy.

Basic Qualifications

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer at least six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer strong math skills for accurately counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
