Base pay range
$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues and answering questions.
- Register sales on the assigned cash register, provide courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
- Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Recommend items for sale, including trade‑ups and companion items.
- Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, exchanges, and collect cash and distribute change.
- Maintain clean counters and shelves, keep inventory, and oversee proper merchandising.
- Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Store Manager, including filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, checking for interactions, and reporting errors.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including physician calls.
- Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services and other clerical duties as needed.
- Assist pharmacy inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, storing shipments, filing claims for overages, shortages, and damaged goods.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
- Construct and maintain promotional displays and seasonal merchandise.
- Assist with food item separation and proper placement, using FIFO method for consumables.
- Operate store systems and equipment; provide customer service in the photo area (passport, poster print, etc.).
- Monitor online pick‑up orders and deliver them to customers.
- Maintain store condition and appearance, and complete special assignments as directed.
Training & Personal Development
- Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification/registration.
- Attend training, complete PPLs requested by Manager, and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy.
Basic Qualifications
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- PTCB certification.
