Job summary

Walgreens in West Virginia is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist under supervision, process prescriptions, and provide courteous customer service at the register and throughout the store.

The role requires fluent English, flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and preferably retail experience. PTCB certification is preferred or obtainable through Walgreens training.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior Walgreens work experience.
• Prefer good math skills for dispensing accuracy.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Registers sales on the cash register and provides courteous checkout service.
• Assists pharmacists in dispensing and entering patient information.
• Fills prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring medications.
• Maintains counters and shelves, keeps displays neat and merchandised.
• Reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
• Works with pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and verify accuracy.
• Supports inventory management and pricing tasks as directed.
