Summary
The Pharmacy Coordinator will oversee and be responsible for all administrative aspects of our pharmacy services including licenses, audits, contracts, etc. The Pharmacy Coordinator also works with patients, providers, and other members of the health care team to provide patients with appropriate and beneficial pharmacy services to meet the needs of the HPWO Population while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.

Summary

Qualifications
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Degree or GED Required
Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Successful completion of in-house training.
Skills/Abilities
- CPR - BLS (basic life support) required.
- Minimum of three years full-time experience in pharmacy practice.
- Experienced in HPWO pharmacy software.
- Computer skills sufficient to support continued integrity of pharmacy dispensing processes.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or mornings, as needed to facilitate training.
- Willing to travel out of state for occasional training seminars.
Essential Functions And Basic Duties
- Stay knowledgeable on current pharmacy software operations and functionality to promote efficient and quality workflow in the dispensing pharmacies.
- Ensure pharmacy software is current and up to date with all releases and updates including software releases and wholesaler price updates.
- Stay knowledgeable on current 340B regulations and state and federal pharmacy regulations to ensure program integrity.
- Communicate regularly with pharmacy software provider and HPWO IT support to ensure proper functionality of software.
- Assists in implementing and carrying out continuous quality improvement programs and activities related to dispensing pharmacy sites.
- Assists the Pharmacy Director in maintaining schedule integrity within the pharmacies by handling PTO requests and technician assignments under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director.
- Manages referral documentation by coordinating with offices, updating patient records, creating correspondence, and requesting medical records from the appropriate referral office.
- Coordinates between patient and provider to complete RxAssist applications.
- Completes and communicates findings from monthly audits of each pharmacy with pharmacy director and staff to ensure compliance with state, federal, and program regulations such as 340B program integrity, and bulk replenishment programs.
- Stay in continued communication with HPWO Pharmacy Director for guidance and support of continued quality improvement and program integrity of HPWO Pharmacies.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily sedentary, demanding sitting, walking, lifting, and bending. Those physical movements and the degree of mobility, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination commonly associated with duties in an office setting will be performed repetitively. This also includes bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, and walking. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols and utilize telephones, computer terminals, fax machines, and copiers is required. The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
