Job Description:

Identify and promote the changes needed to provide cost-effective quality pharmacy benefits to members. Responsible for providing clinical pharmaceutical support through physician, pharmacist, and member education, as well as clinical pharmacy services to members and affiliated providers.

Position: Select Health Pharmacy Coordinator - Remote Position

This position requires rotating holiday and on-call scheduling.

Job Essentials:

  1. Provides clinical pharmacy support for Select Health and affiliated members.
  2. Develops and implements innovative programs that promote the cost-effective and clinically appropriate use of pharmaceuticals.
  3. Analyzes pharmacy claims to identify utilization aberrations and opportunities for cost-efficiencies.
  4. Supports the overall pharmaceutical care of patients.
  5. Coordinates the development and implementation of educational programs for physicians.
  6. Evaluates the success and justification of programs and initiatives; assesses the need for new programs.
  7. Researches, develops, and promotes scientifically and clinically appropriate recommendations to physicians, communicating effectively with patients and pharmacists.
  8. Develops protocols for drugs requiring prior authorization.
  9. Responds to clinical inquiries professionally and accurately.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy (verification required).
  • State license to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical residency, PharmD degree, or pharmacy experience in managed care.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Research, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of medical expense management.
  • Experience managing a pharmaceutical formulary and initiating therapeutic substitutions.
  • Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.

Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.

Location: SelectHealth - Murray, Utah

Work Schedule: 40 hours/week

The hourly rate ranges from $59.86 to $87.98, depending on experience.
