Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking a friendly pharmacy associate in the Red Lion area to deliver superior customer service and assist with prescriptions, OTC products, and groceries. You will greet customers, answer questions, and help locate products while collaborating with the pharmacists to resolve issues.

Additionally, you will unpack pharmacy orders, maintain a clean and safe work area, verify patient information, and support HIPAA-compliant processes during prescription pickup.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience completed or working towards a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver license for business travel purposes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior customer service to customers and patients.
• Smile, greet, answer non-medical questions, suggestive sell, handle special requests.
• Assist customers at the register with prescriptions, OTC, groceries, and other items.
• Identify customer needs, help locate products, promote services.
• Work with pharmacists to resolve customer issues.
• Operate and maintain knowledge of equipment including register and phones.
• Assist with prescription processing including wait times with technicians and pharmacists.
• Assist patients in completing first-time patient information documents.
• Request insurance or patient discount cards and copy for records.
• Provide assistance during prescription pickup and verify correct prescriptions.
• Unpack and store pharmacy orders; keep workspace clean and safe.
• Report suspected prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
• Follow department policies and comply with state and federal regulations.
