Job summary

Medisca Inc. is seeking a Compounding Specialist to support internal and external clients with compounding formulas, safety evaluations, and regulatory guidance. The role includes reviewing formulas, responding to inquiries, and ensuring adherence to current standards and practice guidelines.

You will advise on niche compounding areas (peptides, hormone restoration, veterinary) and assist in developing SOPs and quality processes. Some travel to tradeshows or training may be required.

Qualifications

• Educational background - BS Pharmacy, PharmD or Pharmacy Technician
• 3–5 years experience as a Pharmacist in pharmaceutical compounding (lab preferred)
• Peptide Formulation & Education experience (Sterile & Non-Sterile)
• 503A, 503B and cGMP experience
• Regulations knowledge: USP, NAPRA, FDA, Health Canada, state/provincial boards
• Experience in training/teaching pharmacists and lab technicians
• MS Office suite knowledge (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel) required
• Fluent in English (oral & written)

Responsibilities

• Review non-sterile and sterile formulations per client requests
• Evaluate client requests for safety, efficacy, routes, concentrations and diagnosis
• Verify formulas with primary literature and evidence
• Check API/excipients compatibility, stability and calculations
• Respond to client inquiries via email or phone
• Provide troubleshooting and formulation chemistry guidance
• Consult on niche areas (peptides, therapies, veterinary)
• Ensure compliance with current standards and regulatory inquiries
• Assist in SOPs development and quality system improvements
• Attend tradeshows/trainings (travel up to two weeks per year)
