Job summary

Medisca is expanding its Compounding Services team in the United States. The Compounding Specialist will support internal and external clients with technical inquiries, formulation guidance, and practice standards to expand compounding capabilities.

This role welcomes pharmacists or technicians who are self-motivated and detail-oriented. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in pharmaceutical compounding, familiarity with 503A/503B and cGMP, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Educational background: BS Pharmacy, PharmD or Pharmacy Technician.
• 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical compounding; lab experience preferred.
• 503A/503B and cGMP experience is an asset.
• Peptide formulation and education experience (sterile and non-sterile).
• Experience in training pharmacists and lab technicians is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Review non-sterile and sterile formulations as per client requests.
• Evaluate safety, therapeutic efficacy, justification, and route of administration.
• Verify formulas with primary literature evidence and calculations.
• Check API/excipient compatibility and stability.
• Validate preparatory steps, labeling, and regulatory parameters.
• Respond to client inquiries via email or phone.
• Provide troubleshooting and mathematical support for compounding.
• Advise on bases, devices, equipment and ready bases for compounding.
• Consult on niche areas: peptides, hormone therapy, veterinary compounding, dermatology.
• Address regulatory inquiries and facility workflow considerations.
• Perform literature searches and compile results for clients.
