Job summary

Hugo’s Family Pharmacy is hiring a Pharmacy Clerk in Thief River Falls, MN. This full-time role supports pharmacists, processes prescriptions, handles transactions, and provides excellent customer service in a busy retail pharmacy.

Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Clerk at Hugo’s Family Pharmacy supports pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists in preparing and processing prescriptions, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate records and inventory. This role ensures efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and a clean, organized pharmacy environment while serving as a key point of contact for customers, handling transactions, insurance claims, and inquiries with professionalism and care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing completed orders to customers
• Ringing up sales
• Answering phones and directing customer calls to the appropriate personnel
• Stocking shelves
• Maintaining and cleaning equipment, work areas, and shelves
• Accepting prescriptions to be filled and ensuring that the pharmacist has the data necessary to fill the orders
• Performing other clerical tasks as needed
• Greeting and assisting customers
• Recordkeeping related to inventories, receipts, purchases, and deliveries
• Preparing prescription labels
• Processing medical insurance claims and collecting co-payments
• Unpacking and organizing incoming merchandise, including sorting items that require special handling
• Checking for outdated medications and notifying pharmacists of low inventories
• Working as a team and communicating clearly
• Helping customers locate over-the-counter products
• Handling customer problems/ concerns in a calm manner and referring them to the pharmacist accordingly
• Notifying the pharmacist of any problems or malfunctions
• Properly processing pseudoephedrine sales
• Promoting teamwork
