Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s Optum unit is seeking a pharmacy fulfillment associate to pick, pack, and ship outgoing orders onsite at our Pine Brook, New Jersey location. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM EST, with possible overtime or weekend work based on business needs.

You will adhere to HIPAA regulations and ensure the integrity of the medication and related materials. Compensation includes a competitive base pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Able to lift up to 45 lbs and stand for 8 hours.
• On-site work at Pine Brook, NJ.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and process outgoing pharmacy orders per procedures.
• Adhere to packaging policies and ensure product integrity.
• Perform warehouse tasks (emptying trash, boxes, cleaning areas).
• Assist with inventory and restocking of medications and supplies.
• Help with administrative tasks for Pharmacy, such as scanning documents.
• Create or fix shipping labels and hand packages to shipping.

Positions in this function perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders. Process, pack and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and patient collateral (education materials) are included. May also perform drug/supply ordering and inventory/warehouse duties, including proper storage of drugs and supplies and appropriate refrigeration of perishable products.

Schedule:

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday 6AM-2:30 PM EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or at weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Accurately pick, pack, and process outgoing pharmacy orders in accordance with established procedures and local State Board of Pharmacy
• Adhere to policies and procedures pertaining to packing medication and supplies, ensuring the integrity of the product for our patients
• Perform various warehouse functions such as emptying trash, assembling boxes, cleaning work area, processing and cleaning returned equipment, etc.
• May also assist with inventory duties, including proper storage and restocking of medication and supplies, receiving, and unpacking vendor shipments, and performing counts of physical inventory
• May also support administrative tasks for Pharmacy, such as scanning documents
• Create or fix shipping labels as needed and bring packages to shipping, mail, and courier as needed
• Communicate with the Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacy Supervisor regarding all patient questions and/or issues
• Adhere to all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations and UHG Confidentiality and Code of Conduct

Required Qualifications:

• Beginner level of proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
• Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly, occasionally up to 45 lbs.
• Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
