Job summary

CVS Health/Specialty in California is seeking a Pharmacy Care Technician to read, interpret, and enter prescriptions, verify insurance, and assist with patient enrollment. Position requires six months of pharmacy tech experience, Windows/Microsoft Office skills, and a CA license. Onsite schedule, 40 hours/week, with potential overtime.

Starting pay $22/hour, with a 6‑week onsite training period. Full benefits are offered; must live within 75 miles of Redlands.

Qualifications

• Must live within 75 miles of Redlands, CA.
• Six months experience in a pharmacy technician role.
• Six months experience with Windows-based applications, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email.
• Six months of computer keyboarding skills and aptitude.
• Active valid Pharmacy Technician License and Certification as required by the State of California.

Responsibilities

• Accurately read, interpret, and enter prescriptions into the computer system, including calculation of doses and assignment of directions.
• Accept proper insurance payment in a timely fashion.
• Route incomplete or unclear prescriptions to the prescriber for clarification and enter incomplete information once clarified.
• Assist with inbound phone calls, interacting with customers and cross‑functional team to answer questions, solve problems, provide education, and maintain the company's reputation for high‑quality service.
• Handle new patient enrollment, verify insurance coverage, perform benefit investigations, and process medication orders for new and existing patients.
• Maintain working knowledge of insurance, health‑care, and reimbursement requirements for dispensing and new referrals, and provide customer education.
