Job summary

ECU Health is seeking a Pharmacy Business Analyst to support accounting and reporting for its pharmacies. The role entails preparing month-end close, ensuring accurate expensing of ancillary services, and updating prescription billing in the EHR and formulary systems.

The position reports to the Director, Pharmacy Business and requires strong accounting knowledge, Excel/Access skills, and attention to detail. A hybrid day shift in a full-time capacity is offered within ECU Health’s NC operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; business administration or finance/accounting preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in accounting, data analysis, or reporting.
  • Strong Excel and Access skills; good organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles; ability to complete journal entries.
  • Healthcare experience or knowledge of pharmacy products/operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting and reporting for ECU Health Pharmacies.
  • Prepare month-end close for pharmacy finances and ensure accuracy.
  • Add new prescription billing to the electronic health record and formulary systems.
  • Support information needs and manage pharmacy billing work queues.
  • Report on financial performance indicators for pharmacy operations.

Job description

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Business Analyst position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and reporting functions for all ECU Health Pharmacies. General duties include but are not limited to ensuring ancillary services and programs are accurately expensed, pharmacy financial month end close preparation and submission, new prescription billing additions to the electronic health record and system pharmacy formulary, supporting informational needs, managing and appropriately dispositioning pharmacy candidate for billing (CFB) accounts and work queue discrepancies, and reporting on financial performance indicators. This position reports to the Director, Pharmacy Business.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) is required. Degree in Business administration or finance/accounting preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in accounting, data analysis, or reporting.
  • Strong Excel, Access, organizational and analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask as well as work independently.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, completion of journal entries, and strong financial acumen required.
  • Healthcare experience or knowledge of pharmacy products, operations, terminology, and IT systems is preferred.
Preferred Requirements
  • Revenue life cycle experience preferred
Pay Range

$62,400.00 - $90,948.00
