Job summary

Southend Pharmacy in Houston, TX, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Billing & Data Entry to accurately enter prescription orders, process billing, and deliver exceptional patient service. The role supports providers, account managers, and patients while ensuring timely and compliant workflow in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has a Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician certification, at least two years of pharmacy data entry or operations experience, and proficiency with pharmacy

Qualifications

• Valid Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician certification and CPhT credential.
• At least 2 years of hands-on pharmacy data entry or operations experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; proficiency with pharmacy software.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter prescription orders into the pharmacy management system.
• Investigate and resolve billing rejections.
• Answer and manage inbound calls from patients, providers, and account managers.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service while resolving questions on prescriptions and billing.
• Communicate with providers to clarify orders and obtain necessary information.
• Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Prioritize workload to meet productivity and turnaround time expectations.
• Document communications and interventions in the pharmacy system.
• Assist with other operational duties as assigned.
