University of Washington Medical Center-Montlake Outpatient Pharmacy seeks a Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacists in preparation, packaging and dispensing activities. You will assist patients with intake of new prescriptions and refills, handle point-of-sale transactions and cash handling, and help with medication deliveries within the clinic.

This full-time role features day shifts, a drug-screen pre-employment requirement, and registration as a Washington Pharmacy Assistant.

Qualifications

  • High School graduation or GED Certificate or equivalent education/experience.
  • State of Washington Pharmacy Assistant registration.
  • Pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with intake of new prescriptions and refills.
  • Perform point of sale duties and maintain accurate monetary transactions.
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas within the clinic and assist with stock orders.
  • Assist patients with alternate sources of payment if required.
  • Perform charging and/or billing functions, including third party payer adjudication.
  • Daily filing of hard copy prescriptions.
  • Pull 14-day prescriptions and make day 9 reminder calls.
  • Restock shelves and pull soon-to-expire medications.
  • Package medications in preparation for shipping.
