PharMerica in Spokane, WA is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Assistant for a closed-door, non-retail environment serving long-term care and senior living clients.

youll work Sunday-Thursday 10:00am-6:30pm, require a Washington Pharmacy Assistant license, and enjoy benefits including DailyPay, health coverage, tuition assistance, and a 401k.

Qualifications

• Experience in a long-term care pharmacy preferred.
• Ability to operate a computer and pharmacy software.
• Ability to recognize and identify medications clearly.
• Ability to obtain a Pharmacy Assistant License as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with drug preparation and dispensing under supervision of a Pharmacist.
• Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
• Label products with appropriate cautions and instructions.
• Participate in periodic pharmacy inventory and stock management.
• Adhere to laws, policies, and professional standards in daily tasks.

Our pharmacy group focuses on providing exceptional customer service and meeting the pharmacy needs for hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, long-term acute care hospitals, and other specialized care centers nationwide.

Responsibilities

Our Pharmacy Assistant assists with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist and in accordance with state pharmacy regulations.This person:

• Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy
• Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels
• Participates in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy
• May check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from the inventory
• Performs other tasks as assigned
• Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required
• Previous experience in a long-term care pharmacy is preferred
• Ability to operate a computer is required
• Ability to recognize and identify medications is strongly preferred
• Ability to obtain a Pharmacy Assistant License, as required by government regulations and business needs
• Must be detail oriented, goal oriented, team player, with verbal communication skills
