PharMerica in Spokane, WA is hiring a Lead Pharmacy Data Technician for a closed-door, non-retail setting. The role supports LTC and senior-care pharmacy operations with daytime, Monday–Friday hours and a comprehensive benefits package. You will supervise technicians, optimize workflow, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The position emphasizes accuracy in dispensing, inventory control, and data entry, with opportunities for growth in a high-growth, non-retail environment.

Formación

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in LTC pharmacy setting preferred.
• Supervisory experience is desired.

Responsabilidades

• Participates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Monitors work flow and reassigns Pharmacy Technicians as needed.
• Prepares Pharmacy Technician schedules to meet the needs of the pharmacy.
• Fills prescription items and packages medications for dispensing and delivery.
• Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, including non-sterile compounding.
• Works with automated machines to prepack drugs and manages inventory.
• Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system for labels.
• Mixes/packages IV medications and sanitizes IV room and equipment.
• Communicates with internal and external customers professionally.
• Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Participates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Monitors work flow and reassigns Pharmacy Technicians as needed.
• Prepares Pharmacy Technician schedules to meet the needs of the pharmacy.
• Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.
• Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
• May perform the following:
  • Works in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
  • Works with automated machines to prepack drugs.
  • Manages inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identify expired medications, managing to the pharmacy standard for Days on Hand.
  • Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry).
  • Mixes/packages IV medications, sanitizes IV room, equipment and hood.
  • Services facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
• Communicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Ensure technician adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Education / Learning Experience

• Required: HS diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

• Required: Experience in an LTC pharmacy setting
• Desired: Prior supervisory experience

Skills / Knowledge

• Required: Basic understanding of drugs, medication terminology, and metric system; ability to operate a computer.
• Desired: Workflow management skills; scheduling skills; performance management
