Job summary

Montana Department of Corrections in Deer Lodge, MT is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support medication delivery, order processing and record keeping for the Montana State Prison.

The role reports to Nursing leadership and involves coordinating with the mail-order pharmacy and ensuring inmates receive appropriate medication supplies. Requires high school diploma/GED and 2 years in a pharmacy or medical office setting; pharmacist technician certification preferred but not required.

The Infirmary Unit provides inpatient care with 24-hour nursing coverage in a 13-bed unit and provides medical management for 1400+ inmates. ThePharmacy Assistant supports the medication delivery system at the Montana State Prison to ensure medications are ordered, processed and delivered in a timely manner.

Maintains patients’ records, assists in processing medication orders and tracks delivery of medications from the mail-order pharmacy vendor.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED

Two years’ experience in a pharmacy or medical office setting.
