Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a Pharmacist-In-Charge to lead operational and clinical pharmacy efforts within our hospital setting. • Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completion of a pharmacy residency program or 2 years of work experience as a registered pharmacist.
• SC Pharmacist License
• AHA BLS certification or Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days of hire.

Job Description
Under the general guidance of the Pharmacy Manager, provide operational and clinical pharmacy leadership within specialty area. In collaboration with the health care team, ensure the Pharmacy provides optimal drug therapy to patients as evidenced by proper drug selection, dose, route, duration of therapy, and cost effectiveness. Develop, implement, and coordinate pharmacy programs and enhance the quality of existing services in specialty area. Provide oversight and monitoring of clinical and operational pharmacy initiatives and services. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize the delivery of care, ensuring relevant safety, regulatory, certification and/or accreditation standards are maintained, and various required human resource functions. Serves as the Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) of area or assumes PIC duties if the PIC is unable to perform duties due to specific circumstances and ensures the operation of the pharmacy is in conformance with all laws pertinent to the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of drugs and supervision of pharmacy personnel.
Additional Job Description
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completion of a pharmacy residency program or 2 years of work experience as a registered pharmacist. Licenses and certifications: SC Pharmacist License, Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required and must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
