Job summary

Actalent in Alachua, FL is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team and oversee sterile compounding and the final verification of compounded sterile preparations. You will interpret and process physician orders, review safety profiles, and mentor technicians in a collaborative hospital setting.

The role emphasizes quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and staff training within a first-shift compounding environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of Hospital Pharmacist experience
• Sterile compounding experience preferred
• Experience with USP , USP , DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations is a huge plus

Responsibilities

• Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders.
• Perform and oversee sterile compounding in compliance with USP and USP.
• Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations.
• Review medication profiles for safety, allergies, interactions, dosing, and compatibility.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff.
• Maintain cleanroom, aseptic technique, and environmental monitoring standards.
• Participate in quality assurance, medication safety audits, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain compounding, batch, quality, and regulatory documentation.
• Assist with inventory management, controlled substances, and pharmacy operations.
• Support development of pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training.
• Participate in staff meetings.
• Adhere to OSHA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy regulations, and safety regulations by utilizing appropriate PPE.
