Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital, part of Piedmont Healthcare, seeks a licensed Pharmacist to support distribution, compounding, and medication therapy oversight in a hospital setting. You will review, compound, dispense and monitor medications for diverse patient populations, including infants through geriatrics.

The role includes supervising pharmacy technicians and ensuring accurate order processing and patient care throughout the hospital.

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited school of Pharmacy degree (B.S. or higher).
• GA Pharmacist licensure required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Distribute, document and compound drugs, solutions and equipment to meet patient and staff needs.
• Review, compound, dispense and monitor medication therapy across age groups (infants to geriatrics).
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and monitor orders filled by auxiliary personnel.

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s or higher in Pharmacy Required
