Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital, part of Piedmont Healthcare, seeks a licensed Pharmacist to support hospital medication distribution, compounding, and clinical oversight. The Pharmacist will supervise technicians, review orders, and participate in patient-centered clinical activities while pursuing ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy degree or higher.
• Georgia pharmacist license required upon hire.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Distribute, document and compound drugs, solutions and equipment for patients and staff.
• Review, dispense and monitor medication therapy across infants to geriatrics, including dosing variations and disease states.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure accurate order processing and compliance.
• Maintain competency and engage in ongoing professional development.

Overview: Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelors or higher in Pharmacy Required
