Job summary

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Select Medical, seeks a Pharmacist for Peoria, AZ. This PRN position supports inpatient pharmaceutical services, including drug distribution, central operations and IV admixture in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has hospital pharmacy experience and State licensure; BLS is preferred. You will ensure adequate drug supplies, counsel patients at discharge, and participate in staff training and QA initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Must meet state licensure requirements.
  • Current State licensure required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) if required by state.

Responsibilities

  • Have working knowledge of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution, central operations and IV admixture.
  • Provide clinical support of hospital pharmacy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
  • Inform and instruct patients on drugs to be used after discharge.
  • Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
  • Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
  • Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Shift: PRN /as needed Every 3rd or 4th weekend a month 0800-1630


Previous hospital pharmacy experience or acute care residency is highly preferred.

  • Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.

  • Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.

  • Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.

  • Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications



  • Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.

  • Current State licensure required.

  • BLS if required by State.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
