Job summary

Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery in Nashville, TN is seeking a Pharmacist PRN to join our clinical team. You will review drug interactions, supervise pharmacy staff, participate in Drug Utilization Review, and support quality initiatives in a high-volume hospital setting.

The role requires Tennessee license, BLS/CPR, and adaptability to adolescent, adult, and geriatric care. We offer competitive benefits and opportunities for education and professional growth within USPI network.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Tennessee.
• BLS/CPR required.
• One-year experience preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Demonstrate competent knowledge of the development needs of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws.
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of materials and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Determines and consults on possible drug interactions.
• Assists in the supervision and training of pharmacy personnel.
• Participates in Drug Utilization Review.
• Assists with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Fulfills responsibilities of Pharmacy Manager in their absence.
