Job summary

Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery in Nashville, TN is seeking a Pharmacist PRN to join our clinical team. You will review drug interactions, supervise pharmacy staff, participate in Drug Utilization Review, and support quality initiatives in a high-volume hospital setting.

The role requires Tennessee license, BLS/CPR, and adaptability to adolescent, adult, and geriatric care. We offer competitive benefits and opportunities for education and professional growth within USPI network.

Qualifications

Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Tennessee.
BLS/CPR required.
One-year experience preferred.
Hospital experience preferred.
Demonstrate competent knowledge of the development needs of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of materials and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Determines and consults on possible drug interactions.
Assists in the supervision and training of pharmacy personnel.
Participates in Drug Utilization Review.
Assists with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Fulfills responsibilities of Pharmacy Manager in their absence.
